Today I would like to share some of my experiences.

I am originally from Russia and moved to Canada few years ago and during this time I noticed that people who live in Canada and Russia are very different in the way they think about fashion and practicality.  In my first couple of months in Canada the first thing that caught my attention is the type of shoes people were wearing. Yes, “Shoes”!

I remember one day I was taking the metro and women in front of me was dressed in a nice beige skirt suite, she had a nice hairdo, but when I looked down to my surprise she were wearing  running shoes.  This woman was not the only one I saw many people who prefer practicality and comfort of flat shoes. While most of the women back in my country like to wear  high heels everywhere, like if they are going to a bar  or going to work or coming back home after long day  with a couple of bags of groceries in the hands, even when they use public transportation to move around the city.

When I was a teenager my Mom was running a fashion theatre “Irida”, during this time I was taking an active participation in a fashion design competitions.  At 14 I was modelling my fashion creations, thanks to Mom, she thought me how to wear high heels,…lol…..I am so grateful to my Mom for all the lessons and fashion tips she gave me.

I think that most women in Canada prefers practicality and comfort and women in European countries and Russia will take some suffering but “Beauty and Chic looks“ will be in the first place. So why do we need to go from one extreme to another? Let’s face it what type of shoes we wearing will depend on where are we going and what are we planning to do.

Choosing what type of shoes to wear will always depend on that persons taste for fashion as oppose to comfort In my opinion it is almost impossible to compare flat shoes with high heels even though some of the flat shoes do look nice and stylish they are not as feminine and fashionable. I personally can understand both parties, those who love comfort and those who love to wear their high heels. After a couple of years in Montreal Canada, even I who love to wear high heels I started to look at shoes in a different perspective than before and  let me tell you that I love the comfy feeling you get when wearing flat shoes.

Every women love to look attractive and stylish no matter what the circumstances are. So why do we need to go from one extreme to another,  “Compromise, compromise, compromise”……. and in this case for every day I will suggest that you try kitten-heel pumps.    With this choice you will feel the comfort of wearing flat shoes, but at the same time you will look stylish and attractive no matter if you are wearing skirt dress or skinny pair of jeans.
