Delicious Recipe With Ground Beef & Eggplant
Good day all! Today I would love to introduce you to Turkish cuisine with this great recipe. I absolutely love this dish, it is so delicious. If you have guests coming over and you not sure what to make for diner, but you really want to impress your guests with your cooking skills, then you should try this recipe. I am sure your guests would love this dish, it really is the ultimate comfort food 🙂
Ingredients:
700 gm ground beef
3 medium eggplants
4 green bell peppers
5 medium tomatoes
400 gm tomato sauce
100 ml milk
1 bread
8 tbsp olive oil
Salt & black pepper to taste
- Wash eggplant and cut cross-wise into 8 mm thick slices.
- Generously sprinkle both sides of each slice with salt and place on the cooking tray for 1 hour (After thirty minutes, As the salt sits on the eggplant slices, you will see drops of water begin to bead from the slices, if you don’t see it then sprinkle more salt on the eggplant. This will help to keep the eggplant from having a “bitter” taste.
- While waiting when eggplants are ready wash tomatoes and green bell peppers, then cut tomatoes into 5 mm thick round slices and green peppers into medium size squares.
- After 1 hour squeeze out the excess water from the eggplant between your hands into the sink. After that fry the slices of eggplant until they turn to a light golden-brown.
- Soak bread in milk in a small bowl.
- Put ground beef in a bowl, then mush up bread with your hands and add it to ground beef, with salt and pepper to taste.
- When ingredients are ready take a cooking tray and put all ingredients on it in the following order. First make 8 mm thick round hamburger patty, put it between of two slices of eggplant then add green paper from both sides and tomatoes slices. Repeat until tray is full.
- Mix tomato paste and water together and pour over.
- Pre-heat oven to 450°F and bake it until peppers become soft, and tender (about 50 min).
Enjoy 🙂
